Reorganization of the FBI's Strategic Information & Operations Center

On January 7, 2026, FBI Director Kash Patel announced via his official X account a structural reorganization of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Strategic Information and Operations Center (SIOC), renaming the unit the "Director's Strategic Information Center" (DSIC). According to Patel's announcement, the reorganization included reconfigured physical workspaces within the center, increased staffing, and changes to the architecture by which intelligence and operational reporting reached the Director and FBI leadership. The change continued a pattern of structural reorganization to the FBI's command and information infrastructure under the Director, following the regional command realignment.
