EO 14,207: Eliminating the Federal Executive Institute
Executive Order | February 10, 2025
The Federal Executive Institute was created in the late 1960s by the Johnson administration to provide training for federal leaders and to develop a pipeline for federal management recruiting from among the career ranks. This Executive Order asserted that the program was a failure, and that "bureaucratic leadership over the past half-century has led to Federal policies that enlarge and entrench the Washington, D.C. managerial class." It instructed the Office of Personnel Management to end the Federal Executive Institute and revoked all prior presidential or governmental memoranda to the contrary.
