Cuts to the Office on Violence Against Women
Other | June 16, 2025
The Trump administration's Fiscal Year 2026 Department of Justice Congressional Budget Submission proposed a 29 percent cut to Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) program funding (from $713 million enacted in FY 2025 to a $505.5 million request for FY 2026). The accompanying budget package also proposed consolidating OVW into the Office of Justice Programs and requested statutory amendments to permit that consolidation. Earlier reporting by Roll Call first detailed these proposals.
