EPA Lost More than 4,000 Employees Between January 2025 & January 2026

An analysis of data by the news outlet Inside Climate News found that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) lost more than 4,000 employees between January 2025 and January 2026, a reduction of 24 percent. This reduction was more than double the rate of loss across all federal agencies.
