DOE & GSA Announce Collaborative Effort for a New Headquarters for the U.S. Department of Energy

The Department of Energy (DOE), in partnership with the General Services Administration (GSA), announced that it was closing its headquarters building in the District of Columbia and relocating to the Lyndon B. Johnson Building, the current headquarters of the Department of Education. GSA stated the move would avoid over $350 million in deferred maintenance costs, with the Education Department relocating to smaller quarters at 500 D Street SW.
