GSA Hiring Hundreds of Positions in its Public Buildings Service a Year After Deep Cuts

In Spring 2026, the General Services Administration (GSA) approved the hiring of hundreds of positions in its Public Buildings Service after having fired or incentivized the resignations of thousands of that component's employees in 2025. According to an email obtained by Federal News Network, Public Buildings Services is looking to hire approximately 400 employees by October 2026.
