Obtaining Personal Belongings from the Ronald Reagan Building
Press Release or Fact Sheet | February 25, 2025
In light of the sudden and large-scale placement of many employees on administrative leave, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) issued instructions for employees to retrieve personal belongings from their former workstations in the Ronald Reagan building. Employees were provided with 15 minutes to collect their belongings, mandated that each of them must have an escort inside the building, and required to release the government liability for any personal property they were unable to retrieve. Employees were allotted specific time slots for the retrieval of their property, which were not changeable. The date provided here is approximate because the issuance was undated.
