Agency Information Collection Request: Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey
This notice seeks Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval for a new Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey collection. It seeks comments and sets a 60-day deadline, with comments due August 31, 2026. There are two major changes to how the survey is administered. First, the survey's required core questions are being reduced from 16 to 10, retaining the items OPM considers most probative of leadership effectiveness and performance accountability. Second, OPM will no longer centrally administer the FEVS on behalf of all agencies; instead, each agency will administer the survey to its own employees using OPM's common form as a template, then submit results to OPM and OMB within 90 days. Agencies wishing to add their own questions must seek a separate OMB control number.
