GSA Eliminated Child Care Operations Center of Expertise

The General Services Administration (GSA) shuttered its office that oversaw daycare centers permitted to operate in federal buildings, which were used by federal employees across government. The government kept the costs of daycare lower by providing the facilities and equipment for free and paying for the accreditation process. Critics feared that the closure of the GSA office put federal employees and their children at risk of lower quality care and higher costs as well as the closure of the centers entirely.
