Transportation Offered the Deferred Resignation Program Again

In December 2025, the Department of Transportation (DOT) again offered deferred resignation to some of its employees: those in the Office of Civil Rights and its Maritime Administration. This offer had narrower terms than earlier rounds. Government Executive reported that, whereas employees who took the original 2025 offers could remain on paid leave for roughly seven months before separating, employees accepting the new offer would begin leave and separate by March 31, 2026. DOT encouraged accepting employees to look for other jobs while on leave.
