Addressing Risks from Chris Krebs & Government Censorship

This Presidential Memorandum ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to investigate former Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Chris Krebs to determine whether his conduct violated suitability standards for federal employment and whether he leaked classified information. Krebs had declined to support Trump's lies about the 2020 election having been rigged. Trump's 2025 memorandum also directed all agencies to suspend any active security clearance Krebs may have held. Expanding the retaliation to Krebs' employability, the memorandum also directed the Department of Justice and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and other agencies "to suspend any active security clearances held by individuals at entities associated with Krebs, including SentinelOne, pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with the national interest."
