SBA Administrator Loeffler Issues Memo on Day One Priorities
Following her confirmation as the 28th Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), Kelly Loeffler issued a memorandum outlining her priorities for the agency and directing a series of immediate changes to how SBA and its employees operate. Loeffler mandated five-day-a-week in-office work for all SBA employees effective that day, pursuant to President Trump's Return to In-Person Work presidential memorandum, with no transition period. Loeffler also directed an ongoing evaluation of "workforce reduction measures, including the overhaul of all advisory boards," and expressed SBA's plans to relocate regional offices "currently based in sanctuary cities." The press release also stated the agency is complying with all of Trump's Executive Orders, including by eliminating the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) and placing DEIA employees on administrative leave.
