Restoring the Integrity & Credibility of the Department of Justice

In this Department of Justice memorandum, Attorney General Pam Bondi took steps to implement Executive Order 14,147, which directed the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence to examine the activities of the prior administration for what was termed "weaponization." To that end, Bondi's memo established the Weaponization Working Group to "review the activities of all departments and agencies exercising civil or criminal enforcement authority of the United States over the last four years, in consultation with the heads of such departments and agencies...." The memo named a handful of specific topics to be investigated, including Special Prosecutor Jack Smith's investigations, certain Capitol Siege investigations, Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act) prosecutions, and other Biden-era efforts.
