FBI Agents Working on Capitol Riot Investigations Questioned
CNN reported that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials provided the Department of Justice (DOJ) with details of thousands of employees who worked on investigations related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. It was reported that more than 5,000 employee details were submitted, including employee ID numbers, job titles and their role in the January 6 investigations, but not their names. In a memorandum titled "Terminations", DOJ's Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove had given FBI officials a noon deadline to submit those agents' details. Complaints filed on February 4, 2025 by nine anonymous FBI employees and the FBI Agents Association alleged that on or about February 2, 2025, agency employees had been instructed to complete a three-page survey about their involvement in the January 6 investigations.
