Interior Fires Technology, Cybersecurity & Other Senior Leaders

In April 2025, the Department of Interior fired its top technology and cybersecurity leadership, including the chief information officer, chief information security officer, associate solicitor, and human resources associate director for the Interior Business Center. According to NextGov, these officials objected to giving the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) access to a key federal personnel and payroll system.
