Fork in the Road: Temporary Extension

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sent an email to federal employees announcing a court-ordered extension of the February 6, 2025 deadline for accepting the deferred resignation, or "Fork in the Road," offer. The original offer took the form of an email indicating that employees could resign effective September 30, 2025, and go on administrative leave until that date with language pressuring them to resign. A court initially ordered the government to hold the offer open for a period of time.
