EO 14,183: Prioritizing Military Excellence & Readiness

Executive Order | February 3, 2025

Executive Order 14,183 (EO) had the effect, in part through its revocation of earlier EOs, of banning transgender and nonbinary personnel from serving in the military. In order to do so, it incorporated special definitions of certain words (such as "sex" and "gender ideology") from a prior EO.
