EO 14,281: Restoring Equality of Opportunity & Meritocracy

This Executive Order (EO) directed agencies to deprioritize enforcement of anti-discrimination laws and regulations "to the extent they include disparate-impact liability,” including Title VII, which protects against employment discrimination. The EO required shifting resources away from enforcement of such authorities by the Department of Justice and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
