Initial Guidance Regarding DEIA Executive Orders

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) issued a memo as initial guidance on implementing Executive Order 14,151, which was designed to end diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) programs in the government. OPM's memo directed that agencies "should take prompt actions regarding the offices and agency sub-units focusing exclusively on DEIA initiatives and programs" with the goal of eliminating them. It directed agencies to place employees with DEIA responsibilities on administrative leave and to issue agency-wide notices, "asking employees if they know of any efforts to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language."
